Dating apps can be bruising for women too. Get off of dating apps.

Men take more dumb risks, more likely to abuse their bodies with drugs/alcohol/bad food/tobacco, more likely to own guns and be a victim of gun violence, and are less likely to see a doctor regularly. Of course they have a much shorter life span; men make so many worse choices for themselves compared to women.

I have two young boys. My biggest worry is that they will make impulsive dumb choices while young that ruins their future.

Then that needs to be addressed with massive spending on public health initiatives to spearhead an attack against all of the unhealthy habits men have in order to increase their lifespan and close the gender death gap. Women get tons and tons and tons of more healthcare spending already. There is absolutely a gender bias in money spent on women’s health vs men’s health issues.

There is been very little research into women’s health. There is a shocking lack of research and understanding.

This whole thread is why Carville said we're gonna lose. Take a hint - stop looking down your nose at someone who doesn't think like you or it's going to cost you dearly in 2024.

I hope Carville is not prescient. We see a host of this sort of behavior on multiple issues (and that's what a lot or Trump voters are voting against).

I am a 62-yr old left-leaning male.

I was struck recently when leaders from three top-10 schools were called to address congress about antisemitism on campus. All 3 college presidents were female. Have females really become THAT successful so they deserve to lead MIT, Harvard, and U-Penn all AT THE SAME TIME? Really? All THREE schools?

This crap is not new. I have been the victim in the past of "reverse discrimination" in the past, when jobs were reserved for "vagina-holders only" when I graduated with a PhD in Engineering and the job market was extremely tight. My female office mate attended a super computing conference, didn't have a paper, didn't have any qualifications, and was invited to interview for a professorship at a school - sight unseen - without even asking! The affirmative action people were chasing women that hard!

We all saw another women interview at our university and she gave a terrible talk and had a terrible thesis ("but she's female and from a higher ranked school so it matters not!") The reverse discrimination was disgusting to females and males alike, and this was way back in the 1980s, no need for more of this crap in the 2010s or 2020s.

You must have been equally concerned when those schools were exclusively run by men, right? Like how it was for years and years…

No. From a 2021 study

Gender Disparity in the Funding of Diseases by the U.S. National Institutes of Health

Results: We find that in nearly three-quarters of the cases where a disease afflicts primarily one gender, the funding pattern favors males, in that either the disease affects more women and is underfunded (with respect to burden), or the disease affects more men and is overfunded. Moreover, the disparity between actual funding and that which is commensurate with burden is nearly twice as large for diseases that favor males versus those that favor females. A chi-square test yields a p-value of 0.015, suggesting that our conclusions are representative of the full NIH disease portfolio.

Stop doing stupid things that get you the Darwin Award, stop smoking and drinking so much and taking drugs and start eating h better. Then you’ll live longer and won’t be so miserable. You’re welcome.

Women are more obese than men, moron. In fact, women are getting fatter than men and the gap is widening. Yet women still live longer because we spend so much more on their needs and healthcare.

Maybe fat women should stop stuffing their faces with McDonald’s? That would stop them from hogging so many healthcare dollars due to their terrible lifestyles. That money could be distrusted more equitably to mens’ health needs in order to close the gender death gap bias.

You’re and absolute moron. You haven’t even looked at lifetime expenditures by gender. Women overwhelmingly consume more healthcare dollars than men per head:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10718692/

Results: Women had significantly lower self-reported health status and lower mean education and income than men. Women had a significantly higher mean number of visits to their primary care clinic and diagnostic services than men. Mean charges for primary care, specialty care, emergency treatment, diagnostic services, and annual total charges were all significantly higher for women than men; however, there were no differences for mean hospitalizations or hospital charges. After controlling for health status, sociodemographics, and clinic assignment, women still had higher medical charges for all categories of charges except hospitalizations.

Conclusions: Women have higher medical care service utilization and higher associated charges than men. Although the appropriateness of these differences was not determined, these findings have implications for health care.

BIlLLIONS of more dollars have been spent on breast cancer research than prostate cancer research. Quite literally the NCI only spends half the amount on prostate cancer research as they spend on breast cancer research. This is all while epidemiological data show 1:2 men will get cancer in their lifetimes while it is only 1:3 for women. This again shows how much bias there is towards women’s health needs and spending, which immensely contributes to the terrible gender death gap.

If they could show a specific timeline of women engaging in equal leadership and decision making, I would be supportive of girls becoming eligible for the draft.
I’d also need to see that reflected in congress as well.

There plenty of women in these roles in Europe.

Your point appears to be that there are few women in leadership roles, therefore, we should not elect/appoint/promote women to leadership roles.

Can’t argue with that logic.

No. That wasn’t my point.
Enlistment would be a good path for someone of your intellect.

Left also hates enlisted people. Noted.

Just pointing out your options. You aren’t bright enough to teach kindergarten. Digging ditches would be a good possibility .

https://stephenporter.org/iq-by-college-major/

Early childhood education and elementary education are very low on the ranking of average iq by major. You have a nasty and arrogant personality to boot.

So why can’t men hack it?

Hack what? Aren’t most college professors male?

Elementary and High School teachers are mostly women, the majority of college professors are male. What does that tell you?

Hack a 4 year degree. Women are leaving men in the dust.

It’s so funny how Mr. Military is unable to engage with the substance of the article. Lower class men face real challenges that need to be addressed.

Yet he can only post about his military service and more males serve in the military so therefore men are better? Unless you’re enlisted, then you’re stupid.

I know enlisted leukemia who have maters degrees or got out and got educated and well paying jobs .

Goes to show your ignorance and biases .

More to the point, taking out voluntary enlistment, men are the only ones expected to enroll in the selective service . Women are exempt. Why? Because women aren’t capable? Or is it the fact hey can have children and that’s considered an important role? Chances are it’s the second one, but that shows that women are ok with gender roles and norms when it benefits them .

There is no substance to the article. Like so much academic feminist writing, its version of the patriarchy is completely detached from the real world. To start, women's hypergamous nature was created in response to the nine-month gestation period. For hundreds of thousands of years, women ensured the best outcome for their offspring by selecting the most "chad" mate. Smart cultures eventually discovered a cheat code that you could create better societal outcomes if you suppressed women's natural instincts to mate with chad. Specifically, smart cultures discovered that it was far better to have a man contributing to a child's upbringing than the village. This cheat code was the patriarchy and required that the man be certain the child was, in fact, his. Women understandably complain because evolution taught them to behave differently.

The same patriarchal attitude spilled over into other areas. Societies divided roles based on sex because evolution made the sexes are quite different in their capabilities. Men, especially European ones, are better at spatial reasoning and women at reading social cues. This spatial reasoning also evolved as a survival mechanism on the battlefield. Evolution made men far superior in combat, and no feminist here can present an ounce of data showing to the contrary. Women get upset being told that they don't belong on the battlefield, but their emotional response does not render their perspective logical nor reasonable.

Indeed, the idea that women should express opinions on warfare shows how degraded our society has become. Women have little natural interest in the subject and are better left to their actual interests: cheesy romance novels.
