Dewey Beach for Kids? Help!

I need to decide by early morning whether to book a beach house for the coming week in Bethany or Dewey Beach. I prefer the house in Dewey and its oceanfront location to the house in Bethany, but I am not sure what it's like to stay in Dewey with a 3 year old. In my younger, former life I was part of a Dewey Beach house for 3 summers, so I am familiar with the atmosphere/partying that can happen on the weekends. Haven't been there in years though. Has anyone stayed there this summer? How is it? Please help! Thank you!!

The party thing is no big deal - at least with the house we rented. The 20-somethings aren't there in the week, and they sleep in on the weekend mornings (which you don't).

We preferred Dewey to Bethany.

Oh - forgot to add the thing we didn't like about Bethany:

Sea Colony.

Housing is very dense at SC, so the beach is crowded. For the "premium" paid to rent in Bethany, it was too crowded. Dewey was much more quiet.
