DC is 3 months old and AF hasn't returned, although I stopped BF at 10 weeks. I have no idea whether or when I might have ovulated. I've had cold symptoms and extreme fatigue for 4 or 5 days (hard to measure fatigue bc like I said, I have an infant, but it is worse than usual), have been extremely moody and irritable, but have had no breast soreness like I had with my first pregnancy. For the last couple of nights, my dog has cuddled up to my belly, which she hasn't done since I was pregnant with DC (this behavior started early that time, too, but I can't recall exactly how early). BTW, this would be a very welcome pregnancy. I got a BFN this a.m. I figure I'll take a test again in a week or so, but I thought I'd check to see whether anyone else had experienced anything similar? |

Animals often know. GL! |
I'd keep testing every few days for a week or two. I always knew before I had proof. GL! |

thanks for ruining this thread. why don't you go back to reading above the law for a while? |
Can your dog tell us who Obama's running mate is? I'm dying to know. |
Come on PP- no need to be catty! It's always fun to speculate when you are TTC. Totally harmless and fun! |
My dog always acted differently when I wasn't feeling well or something was wrong. I think they can sense these things. Just think about the service dogs who can predict when an epileptic is about to have a seizure. |
No joke, my cat freaked out around month 5 (woke me up every few hours to make sure I was OK) , but is a little more chill now. Someone told me pets can smell the difference in your pheromones. |
We have three dogs. Two are pretty clueless but one is very intuitive. Interestingly he's the biggest and usually most "rough" of the three (he's a Lab, so not aggressive, but just big and "gallumping" if that makes sense), but also the one who has walked with a limp his whole life after being hit by a car at 1yr old and having his shoulder shattered and rebuilt. It's amazing how gentle he becomes with someone who is sick or not well - it's like he identifies a soul with similar pain or disability. My MIL, an elderly cancer survivor, came to visit and he was the most gentle dog you've ever seen. He'd delicately go sit by her and nuzzle her but sooo gently.
This weekend I've finally been hit with nausea/GI discomfort and he's been by my side for the last two days. So I totally believe the OP that her dog is aware of something different about her. |
So OP, are you pregnant?
FWIW, I think dogs can do some amazing things. I just read an article in the paper the other day about how dogs can sniff out melanoma with something like 90% accuracy... |
I am 7 weeks pregnant and I think my dog knows. For the last couple of weeks he constantly wants to curl up on my belly. Thank goodness he is only 6 pounds but he has been glued to my stomach. |
OP here--the test says not pregnant as of today, so either the dog was wrong (err, i mean i misinterpretted her behavior) or it is too early to tell...probably the former. thanks for your stories! |
So the dog continued acting clingy and sitting next to my stomach whenever possible, and, despite having gotten a couple negatives and having no new symptoms, I decided to test again today. Guess what--I'm pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Sorry -- I thought I changed the subject line--the last post was from me, the OP. |
