| Hoping to get some inspiration for our party Monday. We are having grass-fed beef burgers and beer. That's about as far as I've come with planning and I need to go to the Farmer's Market today. help! |
| we are doing falafel, kefta, chicken and veggie kebabs, coleslaw, garden pasta salad-tons of veggies, olive oil and corkscrew pasta, fatoush salad, tabboleh, hummus, pita chips and bread, corn on the cob, honey cookies, watermelon, popsicles, and the kids and I are making a cake that it served out of a sand bucket-looks like a bucket of sand decorated with gummi sea candy and whatever else the guests bring. We will have burgers and hot dogs too. |
| Did you really have to throw in that your burgers are grass-fed? |
| haha I wondered the same thing |

What's the problem with grass-fed beef? My family raises cattle so it's no big deal. Just wanted to imply they aren't those frozen patties you get at Walmart. I included because it sets the tone for the menu I believe -- grass-fed burgers = more interesting, foodie-ish sides, walmart frozen patty burgers = pork and beans out of the can and Twinkies.
So I also bought asparagus and will pick some poke greens. The corn on the cob sounds good but I didn't see any. And the popsicles are a great idea for the kids running around in the sun, thanks PP. |
| Where are you? The Safeway at Lee/Harrison had plenty of corn on the cob. You could do something with strawberries and blueberries too, which are also on sale. (and with whipped cream, you'd have a patriotic red/white/blue dessert option.) |
Seriously. |
I agree with you, OP. Grass-fed burgers and your other plans sound yum. Hope it went well! |
