OP- how are people supposed to know if a restaurant has availability for 6 ppl at the time you need? Sure people can list restaurants in the area but how does that help? have you used Open table? Its very easy and you go to opentable.com and put in the location with date/ time/ number of people and it gives you the restaurants that can accomodate you. By me saying "Matchbox" how does that help? |

Not the op but no pp, that doesn't help. The op was asking what restaurants seem ok without reservations for a fairly large group on a typically busy night.
My answer was fajita coast because I know that I have been with groups of 6-8 and were seated immediately. See how that works? Someone asks advice and you either know a helpful answer or you don't. Matchbox is nightmare since its so popular right now, so a group of 6 would probably wait more than an hour for a table 8407 in silver spring is also good with groups of 6 and the food is amazing! |

Maybe you should re-read the title. It says "have not made reservations yet..." that would imply she is looking for a place to make a reservation. If she wanted a place to go without a reservation she should have said that. But for 6 people in this area...at any decent place...she is going to wait atleast an hour. |

I thought my opentable.com suggestion was the helpful one. Guess not. I can't guess where you won't have to wait forever because even dining on weekends is erratic in terms of crowds, etc. If you go to one of the places that doesn't do reservations, you might still have to wait upwards of an hour. Sorry, I did not mean to offend. |
