What neighborhoods go to Franklin Sherman

Anonymous
Does anybody know the specific neighborhoods that go to this school? I know its one of the smaller schools and I've tried to look at the boundary map but I honestly found it confusing. Can somebody name the specific neighborhoods that are affiliated with this elementary? Thank you!

Evermay, Ballantrae, Ballantrae Farms, Salona Village, Brookhaven, Pimmit Park, Bryn Mawr, West McLean, Langley Farm, the Dogwoods, Merryhill on the Potomac come to mind.

You still need to check the specific address on the boundary locator to be sure.

Thank you this is very helpful. My next question is this. My house is .75 miles from chesterbrook preschool (almost walkable), and 1.6 miles to Sherman (certainly drive/bus). But I am zoned to Sherman. How is that possible? Aren't you supposed to be zoned to the closest school? Do the boundaries ever change? Can I appeal due to proximity or am I stuck always driving to a further away school?

No, you aren't necessarily assigned to the closest schools. It all depends upon how the boundaries are drawn. I would not expect any change in the Sherman and Chesterbrook boundaries any time soon.
