Shame that all the mddc families the left for cap didn’t realize they were signing on with a lower bracket project team. Should have just kept mddc together, would have been a top 15 team.
I heard those parents left because of the coaches and one or two toxic parents. And seeing how happy they are that cap lost proves their toxic nature. At the end, cap just has so much firepower and talent but as expected there will be growing pains. And at least the parents are pleasant.
The "toxic" parent statement was not the case. There maybe was some favoritism (SR) there however those parents were just as crazy as everyone else. Cap has a track record of their kids being recruited and we didn't want to be the guinea pigs. Most of the girls loved MP and lack of commitment from KM along with the potential favoritism made parents worry.
Does it look a little scary right now? YES however we are getting better despite what the scores may say.
I guess toxicity should be explained more. If a parent insists their daughter plays a particular position she isn’t suited for, manipulates the coaches to impose his/her will, make coaching calls for the coaches, recruits girls from other teams, spreads rumors and gossip, outwardly expresses which kid is bad and shouldn’t be on the team… that’s toxic.
And unless kcm does the actual coaching, mddc is done. And hearing from past parents at mddc from 1-2 seasons ago, only those MP favored reciprocated. As soon as favoritism became clear, everyone else did not trust the organization. Also, mp is only a first half coach. Always gets out-coached in the second half. And the team does not develop kids.
The team could be good but parents can’t be involved and coaching needs to be better. They have decent talent.
