It takes time to gel. That's why you have playdays.

I think that you will find that the 2029 cap blue version isn’t nearly as talented as that 2025 team. 29 cap blue will be fine, especially when healthy, but they won’t be a top 5 team at any point.

How many unhealthy/injured players are there? I know of one, and yes she’s fantastic . But are you saying that one player will change the team or are there more and their poor showing was due to being a few girls down?

Just that one, def fantastic. I don’t think that her coming back will “change the team,” but she will def make them better. That is why i said they will be “fine,” but never elite of the elite.

You might be right, though few people can accurately assess the talent of both the 2025 and 2029 Blue teams, and I doubt you're among them. Still, I appreciate your confidence despite having limited information.

Right, bc no one can know the game and have seen both rosters play at various times.

Watched 2025 cap blue play a bunch of times and saw where there girls went to college, and have watched the 2029 kids on cap blue play since elementary school. The 2029 version is not going to finish its last year at #2. That is unless they do what some other poster suggested is a regular occurrence at cap, and half of the players are replaced with better players.

Wonder if the fantastic injured player is watching from the sidelines and rethinking her choice of team. I assume she would be given an invite to tryout for the real elite teams this summer.

She was injured during tryouts, but she has an open invite to heros and m&d from what I understand. Kinda surprised in her choice to go to cap, my guess is that cap sold her on being a focal point while she would just be one of the midfielders at the other programs.

Learning to be part of an excellent team versus the focal point of a good team would probably serve her better in the long run. College coaches want top players who can shine as a team member, not only the star.

Cap 29s were down 2 girls, both can score. Would not have changed the outcome of the day however once the team gets going, they will be fine.

However, I am not sure the girls who left MDDC to go Cap 29 are in a better situation.

Will let you know in 2 years. Hang in there.

Not til tryouts. And yes, there is usually anywhere from 1-5 girls turning over. This year, Cap 28 blue moved 3 girls down and added two girls from outside and moved on Cap Orange up, and Cap Orange Cut 4 girls from the team and added two girls from outside of program.

So they don’t develop players, they just swap them out. No wonder so many DMV girls are going elsewhere lately.

The responsibility to develop the player is on the player oddly enough. Capital provides very little in the way of practices and development. One must seek out lifting, speed, stick work, etc. options on their own. It’s mind boggling how little you get for the 4k Capital price tag compared to other travel sports.

Outside work is also extremely common on the MD teams, particularly for the top tier players who are frequently doing something to get better/stronger/faster.

Agreed, outside work is not uncommon for the best players. However, there is no inside work with Capital? Everything is outside.

1000% - I assume the goal is to provide very little, then route girls to Healthy Baller for extra work. It becomes a money pit after a while.

4K price tag is rather expensive. That is too steep for my pockets.

And that’s just the start.

$4K, zero in-house development, minimal recruiting assistance (as confirmed by cap blue parents on this thread), and bad coaching (tons of D1 girls for 27, barely top 30). Oh, and they will replace you after sophomore year if you’re not one of the cool kids. Cap blue sounds amazing!

I love watching the Capital derangement syndrome play out in real time with you all. The recruiting results torment you so.
