I normally like an oversized suit but this looks weird and not appropriate for the occasion with the sleeves pushed up like that (but I'm sure would look dumb with the sleeves not pushed up). It was just the wrong choice for the occasion even though it feels like she was trying -- trendy, bit of a fashion risk.

Melania looked boring but impeccable. No notes, that's political wife drag perfection. Doesn't pull attention, but perfect marriage of professional, somber, formal, and chaste. Plus it's perfectly fitted and flattering. Actually a hard combo to pull off, kudos to her stylist.

The sleeve tattoo behind her caught my eye. 2010 and 1990 right next to each other? I kind of remember having a jacket much like that back then, and wearing it the same way.
This and the blue dress meeting with Modi(iirc) make a person think she's pulling things out of a hefty bag full of her dead great-aunt's clothes.

If you put Usha and Jadolf Didtler together they equal an appropriately fitting outfit - one too big and one to little.

Melanie’s dress is great and love the geeen version even more.

Usha’s suit is beyond awful. I am also petite, small bones and just cannot wear the oversized blazer at all. This is not a good look for her. She needs to just go to MM Lafluer and get a bunch of basic dresses and blazers. Or Theory. Conservative, fitted, classic. What she is doing is not working for her style or body. It’s fine not to care about fashion. Just got a few basics that fit well and no one will care.

Yeah. She's wearing things that are kind of statement pieces, but they are ill-fitted. She's just not carrying them.

I'm also petite, and there are also several obvious tailoring things she should do, like take in sleeves and hem to a slightly more flattering length. On the blue dress she wore for the Modi visit, she needed the cuffs taken in.
