2026 acceptances

My son chose Penn State (Math) over Cornell because he can double major and graduate in three years (all 14 of his AP classes transferred!). He is SO happy. He was a merit scholar with a 1560 SAT and 4.0. 5s on all APs.

My DS checks his portals. His two rolling admission schools didn’t send emails until days later. Once he saw that he’s been checking his portals a bit more regularly.

From where did kid apply, when did they apply, and how long after did they hear back?

Camden. Waiting to hear from New Brunswick campus.

My kid applied to New Brunswick as well but has an artistic review as part of their process so notification on a different timeline. Good luck to yours!

Toured it with my DS, a great underrated public

We’re touring it in two weeks. Interesting that they do the tour by bus. How is the five campuses thing? Does it feel too spread out? Does it seem like there’s a sense of cohesion/community?

If you want to tour an individual campus in depth they have an app with a pretty good self-guided walking tour of each campus.

I read that Rutgers applications are up 90% since they started using the common app a couple of years ago and the acceptance rate for NB campus went from about 65% to 35%. It may no longer be an option for my A/B student.

Any prediction if Georgetown's will go up if and when they move to CA?

Cornell does accepted most of the AP exams. Kid got 10 out of 13 AP exams transferred. With these credits, kid will try to double in engineering (ChemE and CS) in 4 years since kid is on ROTC scholarship. Scheduling classes is a nightmare but so far so good (second year).

Excellent!

Is it one of your Dc’s top choices?

Yes!

Congratulations! My kid was accepted to Delaware a few days ago too. We won't know about Honors & merit until later though.

There's an open house next Saturday:

What does the acceptance say about merit and honors? Do they indicate when “later” is? Also curious when your DC applied. Thx

Of course, the assumption is that the acceptance rate at Georgetown will go down, but, if that happens, how much that will mean is open to question even if the number of applications increases because Georgetown is reportedly very specific as to the type of students they want.

So it is really hard to say.

My DD heard back from Pitt this morning and she’s in! Figured she would likely get in, but it’s still nice to see the excitement on her face for the first one. If she gets in nowhere else, I know she’ll be happy to go there.

Now we will sit tight until January.

I didn’t realized Delaware was rolling. When did your DC apply? My junior really liked it there and will apply next year.

I didn’t either. DD applied 10/18.

There is a Delaware State University and also the University of Delaware. Two different places. U of Delaware releases EA decision by Jan 31.

Ok that’s what I thought and why I was confused.

UDel has already released a bunch.

Indeed! Congrats!

I hope you’ll come back with an update in the New Year. It’ll be interesting to see how these early offers fit with what’s still to come.

College Game Day is at Pitt this weekend, which is a very cool get for the school. Hope those with acceptances anre psyched about the fun factor in campus. Great education and fall football!

I'm basing my kid's application strategy entire on this season's football results:

All in for Vandy, UVA, and Ga Tech!
Syracuse, Clemson, UMD, and Penn State are out!
Yes I am kidding!

But yes I do pretend when I am watching football that DD will be accepted to whichever schools wins haha

So basically it's not looking good for her to end up at Pitt

Congrats. When did she apply?

Has U of Delaware sent out any honors college letters yet? DD got an acceptance letter today but no mention of Honors. Just curious.
