What happened at Yale?

These cases tell top applicants who are surprised by their rejection that this process is a joke so don't feel that you weren't good enough. These colleges aren't good enough to admit fairly.

And the girl took a gap year when she didn't get into an Ivy the first time around? There are so many holes in this story - think of all the NYC, DC/VA kids who KILL themselves to get in, meanwhile this grifter forges a bunch of paperwork and is submitted with no issues? Why wouldn't the AO have ties to North Dakota high schools and vet the minimal number of ND applicants to Yale? Talk to the guidance counselors?

The roommate is also giving narc, but that's a different issue.

This is why you can't hire 23 yo AO and expect them to do anything. Lazy lazy lazy.
Not related, but that kid is a tribal member and also in charge of native recruitment.
I'd imagine a lot of "fraud" there too.

Ivies claim to have many layers to asses a student and all that holistic shit, how can they blame one new hire for all of this?

That's why holistic is garbage. It'd take actual work and resources to confirm that half the activities that umc kids put on their applications are heavily embellished or plain made up. But they already know that. It's part of the con played by schools in their admissions.

It seems she forged all her transcript docs, and had planned to say she was from California when she got to Yale, but when she arrived, her dorm dorm had her name and hometown (North Dakota) and then she started getting tripped up in lies. And the automate turned her in.

It is paywalled but this is a link to the free article via archive.ph

Thanks for the link. This is pretty fascinating. Scammers find the weak link in the system. Makes you really question the whole college admissions framework.

Imo these schools reject qualified applicants who won't bother to pull any fraud or bring any connection or donation to show desperation to get in.

If you think she's nutty, read about Tonica Jenkins.

But how did she fake the high school transcript?
