Not everyone can or wants to go to Harvard or MIT. But you do you.

Harvard, MIT, Wellesley, Amherst, Williams, Smiith, Holy Cross, Tufts, Dartmouth, Brown, Bowdoin, Colby, Middlebury are some of the many better than those 3. Grads from UMass Isenberg business school do better than BU, BC, and Northeastern. Add in Babson with better outcomes.

First - those three are very good schools, not "average." The top 5% of students in our local public and private high schools might hopefully be admitted to any of those three, but it's not near a certainty like UMass Amherst (which is a fine option, but a very different experience).

The cost difference is at most 45k/year and for most normal kids not going to be that extreme. I probably know 10 families with kids at those schools and only a couple are full-pay. For most of the others it's a stretch above in-state tuition, but not a mighty one.

I get it. All good schools have haters. If a school has haters, it just means it’s a good school. Period.

Just because BC and BU aren't the same as Harvard doesn't mean that the schools aren't good.

Save money go to UMass! Proud alum.

1. They are well above average. UMass is average.
2. There are people money is less of a factor just like people buy Lexus when there's Toyota.
3. There are people who get aid and merits so they don't pay $95K

For cost and outcome wise,

UMass Amherst
https://collegescorecard.ed.gov/school/?166629-University-of-Massachusetts-Amherst
Graduation rate: 82%
Average Annual Cost: $23,691
Median Earnings: $71,631

Northeastern

- Graduation rate: 90%
- Average Annual Cost: $32,116
- Median Earnings: $92,538
