You seem to suggest it just happened out of the blue. Of course, Frumin is to blame because he supports policy that directly correlate with that increase in crime. There is cause and effect at this point. If you look at a crime map for Ward 3 and track the incidents, you will find that many take place along the Connecticut Ave NW corridor near the voucher buildings. There are homicides in location where there never were in the decades prior.

All crime in ward 3 is up by almost 20 percent during the 3 year period (ending today) compared to the previous 3-year period. What has he ever done to tackle crime in the Ward, particularly in the areas where it has increased more dramatically? If crime rates are dropping now, we can attribute it to Draconian policing and not Frumin.

On the projects, the funding of the projects could be halted while the issue is sorted, no? Why should taxpayers bear that burden? How is Frumin helping us? How is he making Ward 3 safer for its residents?

You want to blame Frumin for policies that you believe increased crime in Ward 3 a couple of years ago, but not give him any credit for policies that you believe decreased crime in Ward 3 this year?

News flash: Frumin had nothing to do with any of these policies and neither does any single council-member.

You may have your issues with the way the city goes about housing formerly-homeless people and that’s fine. Many people from across the political spectrum have criticized how the program is run. After all, the only reason that Frumin is now the council-member is that his predecessor leveled a few criticisms of her own and got so much blowback she decided to quit the council.

In the off chance that you do actually care about the voucher program (rather than just trying to smear Frumin), I’d recommend you look into who actually administers it and take your issues up with them.

According to that link, Ward 3 crime peaked in 2023 and has come down since. I guess we should all be thanking Frumin then?

Crime is UP in 3F where most voucher residents live.

I don’t know — I’m in 3E and haven’t noticed any increase in crime. I also don’t think the ward councilmember is the main factor in rising or falling crime rates — if you’re worried about crime, why would you support Bowser?

And that kind of accusatory arrogance is one of the reasons why that Orange Nitwit is sitting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue destroying our country. DC's operation of the voucher system, especially with respect to trying to deal with homelessness by handing out vouchers to the long-term mentally ill and drug addicted, is a travesty. Many of the apartment residents in Ward 3 who are complaining are older people on fixed incomes. They are now stuck with crazy people, the recently incarcerated (many of whom return to the activities that got them locked up) and other behaviors that make living in some of these buildings a nightmare. I am betting that the people who wrote these comments above don't live in these buildings and don't have to live with those behaviors but they are oh so quick to dismiss legitimate complaints as "racism".
