And no one particular part of the city should get less say because they pay more taxes. That's not how democracy works (or at least should work). |
Time to end the DC experiment that sent addicts, derelicts and criminals into neighborhoods with previously low crime rates. |
He ran on no policies other than the Ward 3 bike lane, saying only that he brings people together. His sole accomplishment he referred to in every single debate and discussion I had the misfortune to witness was the Lisner Home. His signature issue was one he capitulated on immediately. What can he say he has actually accomplished? Voting for giving away the farm for a stadium because he didn't want to miss out, while it looks like that decision is already going to result in a reduction in educator pay? No one on Council gives a damn about accountability, but Frumin makes his questions from the dias loom like he is a cheerleader for Bowser. Absolute joke. I wish someone with some real convictions would primary his sorry old ass. |
| Ward 3 has regressed under his leadership. That alone should be disqualifying. |
| If I don't live in ANC 3F, how am I supposed to make up my mind about who to vote for? |
We are not 3F, but we intend to vote like we are. What’s been allowed to occur along stretches of Wisconsin and Connecticut Avenues is reckless at best and probably better categorized as negligence. We are operating under the assumption that those of us along the Mass Ave. corridor will eventually be impacted by voucher residents and we intend to vote that way. Matt seems like a nice guy, but his general lack of outrage on the voucher issue and associated crimes has been stunning to watch. |
+1. You are smart to do so. If Bowser decides not to run again we need at least one councilman that can push back on the next mayor who will likely be a leftist. Frumin is definitely the wrong person on this moment. |
| I don’t know — I’m in 3E and haven’t noticed any increase in crime. I also don’t think the ward councilmember is the main factor in rising or falling crime rates — if you’re worried about crime, why would you support Bowser? |
The answer is because this has nothing to do with crime or any other issue. Eric Goulet is obsessed about crime and I’m assuming plans to challenge Frumin next year. So him and/or his boosters are trying to mislead Ward 3 voters with ridiculous nonsense like: ANC3F constitutes the entirety of Ward 3; Frumin runs the city’s voucher program; and Frumin is entirely responsible for the city-wide increase in crime between 2022 and 2023, but not the improvements thereafter. |
| "voucher residents" is just code for black people. Just say you don't want to live near them, and that you're racist |
This. The thread is mostly a bunch of racist white people who don't want "those" people living around them. Talk about entitled. |
And that kind of accusatory arrogance is one of the reasons why that Orange Nitwit is sitting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue destroying our country. DC's operation of the voucher system, especially with respect to trying to deal with homelessness by handing out vouchers to the long-term mentally ill and drug addicted, is a travesty. Many of the apartment residents in Ward 3 who are complaining are older people on fixed incomes. They are now stuck with crazy people, the recently incarcerated (many of whom return to the activities that got them locked up) and other behaviors that make living in some of these buildings a nightmare. I am betting that the people who wrote these comments above don't live in these buildings and don't have to live with those behaviors but they are oh so quick to dismiss legitimate complaints as "racism". |
Your little parlor trick hasn’t worked since 2023. People are not afraid of you anymore. We’re tired of the crime. Times up. |
Someone “obsessed” with lowering crime and improving quality of life sounds pretty good. |
No. It’s about filling apartments in DC with people who need serious help but the city can’t/won’t provide services (including policing). If you seriously think that means “black people” then you need to look in the mirror before calling people racist. |
