Some of these kids need to be in self-contained programs but MCPS got rid of many of them. |
Physicians rarely treat mental illness. Schools are supposed to provide educational services to all kids, including those with physical and mental disabilities and medical needs. It is complicated as these kids don't need doctors and they need trained professionals in ABA, speech, ot, pt, soicla workers, therapists, special ed, and much more. |
Does anyone else have a problem when they fire teachers who don't cover up the violence and chaos in the classroom? |
No. I haven't seen that. There's probably more going on with whatever you're alluding to. |
Every year teachers lose their jobs and it may or may not be due to the mismanagement, lack of security, over stuffed classrooms, violence, assaults, etc. Many of the things are out of teachers hands with no support. How do they pick and choose who gets canned when we are asked to fraud number daily by admins. |
Everyone should know this garbage is happening in public schools across America. I’ll never forget the teacher who got her ribs kicked in by a violent “special needs” kids.
The kid’s mother didn’t even have an apology for the victim, even though she barely survived the beating she got — for dedicating her entire life to teaching kids. This never existed before the Department of Education decided violent kids should be awarded special protections. School attackers don’t have a real disability. They have unaddressed/unregulated temper tantrums. That spoiled little toddler stomping his feet and throwing his toys around the house, eventually can turn into a behemoth mad person with real power over you. Girls and women are their targets. Never give into demanding children, or they can become monsters. |
Violent mental illnesses demand psychiatric intervention. Sick untreated children do not belong in school. You aren’t allowed to have children with fevers in school either. |
Kids undergoing treatments for chronic conditions regularly go to school, even when they require substantial support. Or you suggesting we shut down the Longview School, too? |
Yes, because they're expensive. |
It’s far cheaper to help kids when they are young vs prison or other things |
Kids go to school sick all the time. Mcps shut down the mva so kids lost their school who had health issues. This is about mental health which is very different. |
Yes, but MCPS doesn't bear those other costs, so they don't care. |
What? |
|
No, because of low test scores. |
