extreme fatigue around 9-10 weeks??

Hi ladies,

I know it's probably normal and I was told to expect some morning sickness right about now... luckily i've had NO morning sickness but I'm SO tired. I'm working 2 jobs to make ends meet before the baby comes and am on the go pretty much nonstop from 8am-7pm 6 days a week, and then have more work to complete at home.

Last night we went to dinner and I was yawning at the dinner table by 8:30pm. I was in bed from 10pm to 2pm today!!! Went to work for 2 hours and crawled back in bed. How long will this last? I hope not during my whole pregnancy!!

I used to count on starbucks red eyes and vitamin B12 to zoom through the day, but that's prob not the best option while pregnant.

Does anyone have any super foods/ high energy foods they can recommend?? Also something easy to travel with/eat @ my desk?

An apple..seriously, look it up. Apples are actually better than coffee for waking you up.

Totally normal. Eat fruits and veggies all day and lots of cold water. It gets better/you get used to it.

Completely normal. Mine went away around 12-13 weeks; for most people it ends with the first trimester. For now, get as much rest as possible, eat healthy, exercise if you can. Hang in there!

Totally normal - extreme fatigue was my only real symptom in the first trimester. Maybe you'll be lucky too and avoid morning sickness!

Mine cleared up at about 11 weeks, as I recall. Until then I came home from work, ate dinner, and went to bed. Poor DH was pretty lonely.

Try taking an iron supplement (with a non-constipating coating).

It WILL be back. Third trimester. BIG TIME. Rest up.

Same here, no morning sickness but totally fatigued. Could to even make it to 730 pm. In my second trimester now, and it is much better! Now I have some insomnia.

I'm 9 weeks pregnant, and my only symptoms are extreme fatigue and sore breasts. At least you're not alone!

This was me with #1. I was so tired I could not stay awake past 8 until 13 weeks. You just have to embrace it and then bounce back during second trimester.

For my first, I slept like the dead 12 ours a night during this period. For my second, I had no time to think about it!

Really? You can tolerate fruits and veggies? They're normally a good part of my diet, esp veggies, but during the first trimester, forget about it. It's always hard to have the healthy foods I normally love become 100% gag-inducing.

Just get through it now, and take things one day at a time. It may not return; I never felt exhausted during my third trimester, though many women do. Then again, I was on Zofran the whole way through my pregnancy.

Bottom line: most women do experience extreme fatigue during the first trimester, for most women it goes away after that, and for many it returns in the third. But, as with everything, it depends on the individual. Hang in there!!

I'm only about 2 weeks ahead of you, and I'm already starting to feel slightly more energetic. I don't long to crash into need at 6 pm! Try to rest, don't push yourself anymore than is absolutely necessary, and give yourself a break! I finally decided I would grocery shop and clean in the second trimester, and I asked for help from DH as much as possible.
