Does a full year have to elapse between WPPSI assessments?

Anonymous
Or can it be given again after 10-11 months?
Anonymous
yes, a full year must have elapsed between tests.

a) why?
b) if you take the test just of of curiosity-- or are applying to different schools-- why doesn it matter/how would they know/why would they care?

If the test is taken more than once in a 1-year span, the results are invalid because of practice effects.

so how would anyone know if you didn't wait that long?

You're asking how might you get caught being dishonest? A better question is why would you want to be dishonest.

The testing center will specifically ask you and the child. You could lie and chance it, but then you might end up having your results invalidated when your child spilled the beans that he/she was asked it a different way last time (which for a young child would almost certainly happen). The test is identical (not similar), so taking the test would yield a result that is invalid, which of course you must already know. In terms of consequences, not only might you get your new test results invalidated, the tester might specifically let the schools to which you are applying know about the issue, if they don't feel it was an honest mistake.

A lot of risk for a silly WPSII score.

For God's sake. I was just asking out of curiosity. The best question is why you assumed I want to be dishonest.
