What to wear with this dress to a gala?

I'm attending a gala at the end of March, and am going to wear a dress very similar to the link below. Last year, the dress code at this gala was cocktail, although many were also dressed down from that. Due to the fact that my dog chewed up my favorite pair of shoes to wear with this dress (bad dog!), I have to get a new pair. Any suggestions?

I would do a black satin strappy shoe to dress up the dress.

Not sure what your tolerance is for heel height, but something like this...you could get in a nice pop of color with a matching clutch (or keep it understated too, whatever your style is).

These are cute, and I had a similar pair in silver that I literally wore out. They go with everything and rarely go out of style.
