Board of Veterans Appeals (Attorney Advisor)

Soooo, who's working through the holiday to get their numbers up?

Not me. But I do keep thinking it's Saturday. Sucks to remember that there are three days of work after today.

How do you apply for a job as an attorney advisor? I can't find anything online. I'm very interested.

How do EOY bonuses work? We are allegedly getting them for Y25 but this is my first fully exceptional year.

Typically USAjobs.gov but we have been in a hiring freeze all year.

You'll have to be more specific in your question. What do you mean by "how do they work"? If you're asking about when the cash will hit your bank account, the answer is: who knows? For me, the payout has been as early as January and as late as June. It depends on how quickly things are processed.

Apologies, I meant amounts. Is there info anywhere on the tiers of awards? Is it a flat amount, percentage-based, etc.

Last year it was 4% of salary for Outstanding (equivalent to about one paycheck). Lower payouts for lower tiers of bonuses.

The best way to improve morale at the Board is for the DVCs to hand out free hugs to top performers.

Raising the quota while taking away incentives like the bonus program and overtime especially in this economy is 🥴

Management’s power is the strongest in this economy because most BVA attorneys do not have good exit options. I mean, would you hire a BVA decision writer, when there are hundreds of attorneys from DOJ and other agencies looking for jobs?

Figuring out how to apply for a federal job is the first part of the test. You have failed, counselor.

Lol, lower your standards! We’re talking about BVA here. The best and the brightest are not the ones who are interested in jobs at BVA.

Trademark examiner would probably be better. I once interviewed for one of those jobs, and they were basically looking for lifers. I obviously didn't get the job since I was a total mismatch for the office.

So what does that say about you when you washed out at as an 11?
