2030 Girls Lacrosse

The refs pinged them for it twice sunday. It's terrible for coaches to have these girls stalling for 5-6-8-10 minutes at a time. They'll be in high school next year. Just play the way they'll play in the future. M&D has beaten MDU everytime they've played now since last NGLL playoff.

MDU wasn't stalling, there was confusion about what players were on the circle, as they are always moving them around, not just having middies do it. Why would a team intentionally do this? The refs determine when the draw starts.

Stalling when you have a lead in a playoff game is just smart lacrosse. YJ, M&D, MDU, HG all do this. To go to goal with the lead in a playoff game is moronic.

M&D is 3-1 against MDU since MDU won NGLL, both two of those games were by 1 goal. No one has anyone's number, its two great teams battling back and forth.

Stalling is the basis of M and D 31s playbook so it shocks me that the 30s are not the same. Girls refs don’t seem to know that stalling is illegal so never call it and so it goes for the 31s.

You mean passing the ball around is illegal? That exactly is the rule?

You have to ‘make a reasonable effort to score’ - that exactly is the rule.

And your question proves the point - officials don’t realize that this is illegal so teams like M and D 31 and now I guess 30 use it as a strategy. It’s effective but also very lame. And the M and D teams I’m referencing are regular M and D, not M and D DC.

If you’d like, I’m sure the 31 mnd team would gladly not stall when they’re already up 14-2 on blc but then you’d complain about them running up the score. Every team will stall when they’re already are up. If you’d don’t like it there are two options. Go pressure the ball or sit back.

There is also a 2031 thread.

The third option is complaining

Several girls have gotten invites. They just aren't posting about it. Just a hunch but probably most the invites for the top clubs are out. BIC tries to have girls from other clubs to show equal representation.

Complaining by parents will happen regardless of any stalling. Stalling is a technique taught to kids regardless of age.

Why are 31 parents on here?

Its because their thread is quiet. 31s haven't turned crazy ... yet.

The thing about stalling: You have to be winning for it to work.

What’s funny: M&D parents are the first to complain about stalling when higher ranked YJ does it to them.

You can be winning by a single goal for it to work so I don’t really think that’s the zinger you intended it to be. Being up by a goal and stalling for 20 minutes to win (which I have seen M and D do) is fine but it’s just not very sportsmanlike- to the point that the times I’ve seen it happen the kids don’t even celebrate the ‘win.’
