Did your DC apply to a LAC with ED (or ED1)?

GPA 4.1 weighted (took most rigorous courses available, got mostly As but there are a few Bs, most in 9th/10th
36 ACT
strong involvement in extracurriculars with leadership at school level
NMSF
Male
unhooked
full pay

I have no idea what to expect. Would feel more confident if had all As.

No, I'd feel v confident here.

I wonder about the BC person. Top 25% doesnt get it done where we are - but I suspect they're at a stronger HS.

Michigan and BC are not LACs. Reading comprehension!

Pomona
4.0 unweighted
1580
Neuroscience
Strong ECs and recs from a top private.

We’re willing to take a shot in the dark.

100% not getting in unless the ECs are really niche.

Middlebury

Too bad, they shouldn’t have wasted their ed on a school that doesn’t want DC area students. If you want an lac, go to Williams or Amherst.

Fewer students apply to Pomona from this area, so maybe it actually helps. Amherst and Williams get lots of DMV/Mid-Atlantic applicants.

Good luck! And respectfully, no, 1 sitting doesn't matter. Why would it? Schools don't know if kids get their scores in one sitting or superscored after six.

Schools do know, since Common App asks for test dates. I don't think it matters that much, but one sitting might help at the margins. My kids added a note that his 36 ACT was in his one and only sitting.

No, don’t do stuff like that. Comes across as “I’m better than your other 36 scorers.” Not a good look.
