Here’s a summary of the murder.

So, so sad.

On another note: the report of the FBI on the Reston trail. I just spoke to a family member who is a former federal prosecutor. He said it could be any number of things:

1. The coverings worn are either for their own protection (HAZMAT?) or the protection of evidence. More likely preservation of evidence.
2. The search pretty much has to be related to a federal crime--which could mean many, many types of crimes. It could be drugs, weapons, bodies, etc. As an aside, he mentioned that it could even be related to a bank robbery. He said he had a case where the robbers went out in the woods to split up the $$ and that is where the investigation took place looking for evidence. (I doubt that is the situation here.)

I'm not convinced the SRO was told. But, if the dad was not forthcoming with names, etrc, it would not do any good.

That article said the dad was moving because of fear --I think there is a whole lot more to this story.

Would that be FBI, though? Or police.

It depends, if this is all due to Herndon High gang activity, then there is likely a federal angle.

It may make you feel safer compartmentalizing a NOVA gang issue, but it is not limited to Herndon or the school. For gods sakes there was a gang killing in
great falls a few years ago. Educate yourself on the local gangs and how they operate.

You know that the killing in GF was MS-13 taking a member from Reston to a park in GF to kill him. That's the only thing GF had to do with this. DP

As a matter of fact, I did know that. Still does not change the fact that the killing took place in GF.

This.

And, you do not know that at all. We don't even know if the SRO knew about it.

And, honestly, we might could use a little more ICE if kids are shooting other kids.

ICE used to do that. Trump put a Nazi in charge. Their goal isn't to get the gang members. The've hired incompetent kids to go after anyone brown.

If anything, things may get worse.

I've worked in immigration law. I know what happened to MS 13 cases.

You do know that some members are second and third generation American, right? Enforcing immigration laws is important but ICE is not the silver bullet some seem to think it is. And no, you can’t tell their status just by skin tone or the language they speak.

Yes. We also know that some are not second and third generation. Nevertheless, it is a very serious problem or the child would not have been killed.
We don't know if the stabbing last week was gang related or not--but the report said that three people stabbed him.

And, why don't we have more reports about this? Has anyone been arrested for the stabbing?

Based on this article, it sounds like the death threats were happening at Herndon High School.

I feel horrible for anyone who has to send their kids there.

I feel sorry for the dad. This is not in any way the fault of the school.

It is human nature to want to find someone to blame. The person to blame is the person who shot him.

Listen to parents whose kids commit suicide. And, I am not blaming the parents, but they always want to find someone to blame.

But, parenting is also important. Would your child be out if he were getting death threats?

You’re just speculating that the call didn’t take place. You have zero reason to believe that. He says he talked with someone at the school.

I don't question that--but you don't know what he said. We need to hear from the family liaison.

Well, yeah, that’s the minimum that needs to be done. We need a thorough investigation about what happened.
