MCPS suggests postponing Crown High School opening for use as holding school

Also this comes from the agreement:

(f) Gaithersburg acknowledges that the need for a high school site is not reasonably related to the demand created by the Permitted Development and acknowledges that Gaithersburg or other government entities could not require dedication of a school site as a result of the students to be generated by the Permitted Development or otherwise and that Crown Village’s agreement to convey the School Site to Gaithersburg was completely voluntary and not a requirement or condition imposed by Gaithersburg or other governmental authorities.

Good stuff thanks for sharing that, pretty clear to me that there’s no legal requirement to use crown for the local students

Those taxes go to additional services, not to the school system. MCPS needs holding schools to do repairs.

It does not have the 20886 zip code so it is not part of Montgomery Village. Even though every student in Montgomery Village attends the school, the physical school is in Gaithersburg.

Yes, it is in Gaithersburg but not in the City of Gaithersburg. The houses around it are not part of the Montgomery Village Foundation.

The 20886 zip code split of off 20879 - until it was created, MV shared 20879 with parts of Gaithersburg.
