May be a free country (for now) but a terrible moral reflection on anyone who supports him.

lol! ‘Moral reflection’ lol

Most ‘moral’ people I know have no real morals at all. So, all I see from your post is judgy mcjudgepants

Hope you aren’t raising kids if you think this is all ok. the abject lack of decency is astounding and Trump and others that amplify his hateful rhetoric are horrible role models for our kids. Being so dismissive like this demonstrates how you and so many others just don’t get it.

I knew my dad didn't vote for Hillary or Trump in 2016 and haven't really asked him his votes since. But I just learned he voted for Trump in 2024 and is standing by the vote. I am having a VERY hard time. Help me, DCUM. Do I just try and forget? Never discuss Trump or my job (I'm a furloughed fed) ever again? I don't want to lose my dad, but I just can't cope.

Honestly, I would back away. I personally can’t get past how Trump voters not only support but are gleeful about the violence ICE is committing in our country. I can’t get the scene of the Germans taunting and cheering as families and children were drug from their homes, and loaded on trucks for death camps in Schindler’s List. Your father is one of those Germans cheering on the Nazis.

Arresting people who have warrants for their arrest?

So you are basically in favor of NOT enforcing the law and letting everyone else just deal with the consequences. If you want to support underprivileged people in other countries with your private dollars, please find a charity and donate, rather than obligating other Americans. Not wanting millions of illegal immigrants who have broken many laws, both criminal and civil, to be deported does not make me or OP's dad a Nazi.

ICE is illegally detaining people, including US citizens and residents, simply because they look Hispanic. No crimes. No warrant.

Why is it being done with such cruelty? Children were zip tied in an apartment building in Chicago during an ice raid. Why are those that are here legally and CITIZENS being arrested and detained?

None of this is worth Trump as president, unemployment is going up, cost of living is rising, part of the WH was razored, the government is shut down and Trump is making billions.

Not any more "free country" you are mistaken. Peter Theil & Stephen Miller & The Heritage Foundation are your new daddies what they say goes. There is no more Senate/House/Presidency it will be KING DON THE CON

Once Trump stays in office after 2028 (yes, he's not leaving, no matter whether we vote or not).

I judge EVERYONE who uses terms like ‘moral reflection’. . . . You and Trump are thrown into the same bucket on this one! I haven’t seen cultural morality in so long. - even preceding Trump, so I don’t understand your logic one iota.

Maybe if the Progressives didn't make white males the evil of all evil, they wouldn't be pushing young men away in droves.

The real reason white men voted for Trump is they don't want to share. For them, it is a zero sum game. When women and minoriries are given opportunities that they were prevented it takes away from white men. They want to go back to the past where they had zero competition and only they were on top in everything.

This is similar to my dad. In his case he was able to get multiple degrees with no debt. And job/financial security his whole life. Yet he appears bitter and angry that those who are marginalized are given any opportunity. It’s disgusting and truly hard to understand. Sadly it seems to be the mentality of many older people who don’t have the struggle so many do and never will.

And OP is also "free to not spend time with despicable human beings" like their father. I always take the approach---if I wouldn't want to be around someone if they were not family, then why am I wasting my valuable time with someone like that? Life is too short to do so

Hey it's a free country. People don't have to hop into the basket with their family members.

dp Sure, they can vote for whomever they want and I can choose not to have any relationship with them too. I have freedom to choose too and they will have to 'get over themselves' See how that works"?

My parents and I are very aligned politically and despise Trump, but my father's done some other things as a senior citizen that challenge our relationship. I think I'd probably be willing to trade them for a Trump vote, but I'm not wired to cut family members off because they don't measure up to my expectations all the time.

My dad and FIL, who were WWII and Korean War veterans, very emphatically did NOT vote for Trump during his first term (they were gone by his second). They thought he was a disgrace to this country.

LOL. Yeah, Biden is just chock full of integrity. Jesus Christ you people are so full of shit it is hilarious.

My kids can’t even look at WH page anymore because of lewd pictures and inappropriate subject matter. It’s blocked. I mean, what the heck??
How much worse does this have to get?

But he's not President now. He never let SNAP go unfunded. He wasn't cruel for fun and to rouse his supporters. And despite Hunter's laptop he didn't make billions on coin or millions on drone part contracts.
The Don took us to a new level
You are so whaddaboutist it's hilarious.
