Genuinely asking both parties: where do you want friends/family relationships to go from here?

I want politics to stop being everyone's entire personality. I'm not happy about the election but the people I know who voted for Trump are not racists or fascists or stupid. And everyone keeps talking about the "your body my choice" thing like it's representative of all Republicans. The ones I know are just as horrified by that. This sucks but we'll get through it and I'm tired of being the only person on the left not acting like people voting for a different candidate is a horrifying traumatic event. Every 4 years we act like the sky is falling.

No, if you can't see that Trump and his particular brand of misogyny, racism and proto-fascism is not usual GOP politics, then you are part of the problem, PP.

I am not going to whine or yell or insult or make a scene. But I will not have anything to do with people who voted for Trump in 2024. They were excused in 2016. Not in 2020 or thereafter. I am quietly removing myself from their lives. I wish them well. Just far away from me and my children. Lastly, I will never vote for anyone who ever endorsed Trump after his first term.

Normalization of Trump will not be done by me. Feel free to do whatever the heck you want.
