| I am about to start my first IUI cycle with CFA. My insurance does not cover meds. I know about clomid and ovidrel. What other meds are needed for IUI cycle? I am trying to research prices and just figure out a budget. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Well, are you doing a Clomid IUI cycle, or an IUI cycle with injectibles? A Clomid IUI cycle should run you $100 in drugs, more or less ($18 for the clomid from Wal-Mart, $85 for the Ovidrel.) Those are all the drugs you would need.
An injectible IUI cycle varies in drug costs because the doctor will be creating a regimen that fits you. Around $1,000 for meds seems to fit what I have heard and read, but some other women here can offer more specifics. |
| OP here. I am doing an IUI cycle with injectables. |

Different pharmacies have the best prices on different injectibles. Do you know which brand you'll be on?
I've found that Freedom has the best prices on Gonal-F: http://www.freedomfertility.com/fertility-medications/medications-and-pricing.aspx Just as a reference point, I needed 450 units ($372) for my last IUI cycle. You may need more or less. You can call around for various fertility pharmacies to get free quotes. Most have free shipping too. |
