You are all a bunch of fools and jerks because you keep criticizing crossfield about the bus ride, now the whole county has no busing service if you stay at the old school. Is that what you wished for?
Now unrelated schools have to suffer for your foolishness! |
The bussing surrounding the redistricting is a separate issue than the new school boundary. They had always discussed the possibility of not providing bussing for kids being redistricted. There would be too many and not enough busses. Again, it has nothing to do with the new school. |
One thing that is interesting--this is the first time I have seen actual dollar amounts put on busing. That should tell you something about how expensive it is to send kids long distances.. |
So wait if there was no new school, they wouldn't have a busing issue? DoEs NoT cOmPuTe! The busing issue is precisely because they're playing whack a mole with moving kids around to balance out the county zoning boards love of filling every empty space with housing. |
And,no one would have known you have a long bus ride? This has nothing to do with it. |
I think this settles it then - Fox Mill will be in Boundary, Crossfield will remain at Oakton. |
Honestly I am fine with it. |
You're wrong - it is all of the neighborhoods north of west ox/Folkstone Rds. That's maybe not half, but 1/3. There is a large portion of Crossfield that is NOT Franklin Farm. I don't know why you people think Franklin Farm is the only neighborhood that matters. |
I wasn't at the meeting nor did I watch it, but that traffic argument is the most laughable thing in the entire world. Our kids all go to Carson. Nobody has ever complained about traffic to Carson. It's literally 7 minutes away. From Franklin Farm it's like a right turn and a left turn, and boom you are there. |
They mentioned making sure that they had Japanese and Korean as immersion program continuation at the new school at both the morning and evening session. Take that as Fox Mill is moving. But who knows, they can change things until Spring now. |
| I just watched the community comments. Can someone explain why that Candle lady said her kid has to cross 50 to get to Western? Literally NOWHERE in the Crossfield boundaries has to cross 50 to get there. That lady sounded insane!! |
| She also said something about 3 years of Covid disruption, WTF? |
Yes. Apparently, her Crossfield kids were more affected by it than the rest of us? Talk about unaware. |
That confused me, as well. But, I think I was more focused on the fact that her younger child could not ride in the car to Oakton with her older child. Wonder how her child gets to Carson? |
I'm not, one of the Crossfield families who wants my kids to go to Western. It is a pain in the butt to go to Oakton. |
