Was he always this weird?

I would cry too if someone accused me and my best friend of sexual harassment and ruined my life and it all turned out to be false accusations.

Blake and Ryan legitimately tried to ruin this man (and Jamey’s) life.

I have no idea. I had never heard of him before these lawsuits. I can't imagine anyone would ever want to work with him or Blake again. Lawsuit issues aside, they seem like two very obnoxious, fake, overly dramatic people.

It has been speculated elsewhere that the emotional part of the interview will be about his back injury. The interview was filmed a month BEFORE the NYTs article and Lively's lawsuit, so it would be extremely weird if it's about the whole Lively drama. At that point he had no interest in discussing it publicly and had been working pretty hard for months to avoid it being publicized.

If it *is* about the Lively mess, this would raise some weird questions for him about why he'd be so upset about the NYT article, because he would have done press with "his side" well before it came out. In fact if he did an interview about Lively well before that article or news of Livley's lawsuit, and Lively's team knew somehow, they could argue that they were acting on defense to push out Lively's version of events, knowing Baldoni's version could drop any moment.

Since that doesn't really make sense and the teaser is aggressively vague, I tend to agree that it's probably just about his back and struggling with that while in the highly stressful position of being a director and acting in a movie at the same time.

He was intense in the cast interviews for Jane the Virgin. I think it might just be his personality.

Who cares? On topic - can anyone find someone discussing the timeline other than Candace Owens? The video and timeline she’s put together are excellent but I wish there was someone else discussing things since she has such a negative rep.

You mean because she's a known antisemite and Holocaust denier who hates feminism, supports the "trad wife" movement, has called #metoo "stupid", and once claimed that "something bio-chemically happens" to women who do not marry or have kids and pointed to some prominent female comedians (who have been vocal feminists and opponents of Trump) as evidence.

Just wanted to be clear what Owens' "negative rep" is based on, so that those of you who persist in watching and linking to her videos and claiming that she's really talking sense about this whole Hollywood fiasco understand that you are actively promoting a regressive Nazi.

The issue is that she is talking actual sense about this fiasco, and I am asking if anyone else is with her level of detail. I’ll keep linking to only germane podcasts and have explicitly asked for alternative sources. You can keep raving and begging mods to delete, but it is relevant to the discussion.

That’s more proof that he asked about her weight because of his back injury then. She keeps looking worse and worse.

I won't ask mods to delete the Owens references because I think it is self evident to any thinking person that promoting Candace Owens and claiming she is "talking sense" is suspect. Like go on saying it and undermining your own point. And I will continue to point out to the unsuspecting that Owens is an actual Nazi because it is the truth.

Ben Shapiro also recently weighed in on the Lively/Baldoni thing. Why don't you link to his videos too? Show us who you really are.

This won’t accomplish anything, but it’s your life. You’re welcome to cite what you like, and I and others will do the same. I know you feel a little bad-as$ with all of this online activism, but it’s meaningless and as lacking in persuasion as everything you post.

What’s the evidence that Baldoni did press “from his side” before the Times piece?

Did you read the post you are responding to? The PP is speculating that since the podcast was done in November that it probably isn't about the case since that would mean he had talked about it first - before the Times piece.

I don't know why he asked about the weight. If you have a back injury, a few pounds either way isn't going to change lifting someone up. He knew she was post partum and they could estimate her weight from looking at her.

I think he asked more due to his body dysmorphia and issues and wanting to know her exact weight.

I like the totally serious suggestion that you’d be fine with Baldoni and costumers guessing the size and spread of Lively’s large and wanted to be in charge self without asking her. Maybe they should’ve guessed her weight like a carnival barker at a state fair, she would have loved that. She has such dignity, doesn’t she?

The evidence my eyes bring me is that Blake Lively is ungainly and heavy and wants to be thought of as a smol beauty. She’s large framed, with or without being in weight loss postpartum panic mode. She’s a smedium in her dreams, there is no evidence whatsoever that anyone could be direct about that. The scene in which he picks her up made sense as written, and it makes sense for him to figure it out. She jokes about her middle-aged need for anal suppositories, so it’s sad that people noting how bad she looked in character hurt her so. What with her obvious confidence in talking about her body. And

PP who said she was a delusional middle-aged mom thinking she was still (never) hot is obviously right.

Agree with this. He definitely wasn't trying to "fat shame" her. However, I think this is a good example of where he is tone deaf and handles things poorly, and hit backfires HUGELY because Lively is highly reactive.

Asking the trainer what Lively's weight was... that was just stupid. Like unacceptably stupid. Again, I don't think he was trying to harass her or shame her or anything. I just think he was being an idiot and not getting what a radioactive violation of her privacy that would be especially with her just coming back from having a baby and clearly being in a sensitive place regarding her weight.

The stuff about him recommending a "weight loss specialist" is silly and I don't agree with her at all that that's what he was doing. But I also thin it all links back to him doing this dumb thing and asking her trainer for her weight.

He and Heath both do stuff like this throughout the production -- just idiotic transgressions that I truly don't believe were intentionally harassing but even just taken in isolation, I'm like "what? who does that?" Telling a mother of four what is normal during childbirth? Walking in on a woman who is topless in a trailer (even if you think she might be "cool" with it, this is just a dumb thing to do and someone with more sense would be like "oh excuse me I'll wait outside")? Talking about porn and asking lots of questions about porn (yes, even in the context of the movie -- this is a hot button topic and especially when you are talking to someone you know offends easily)?

If there was a cause of action that was "accidental harassment via stupidity and lack of self-awareness," I think this two would be guilty of it.
