Need your Tips on Fenwick Island / Bethany / Rehoboth area

We're going to the beach tomorrow - yeah!!! It's our third summer renting a townhome with friends of ours who have children the same age & sex as ours (5 & 7). We mostly enjoy hanging out on the beach or pool and not doing much of anything, but I wonder if there is anything that we're missing out on. We may check out the funpark in Rehoboth this year, and I know about the concerts and very nice playground at Bethany. Any other suggestions? Please don't mention Ocean City - we did that once and I doubt I'll repeat it -- we didn't enjoy the crowds, traffic and lack of parking. We trade kids one night and go out for a nice dinner, so I'd love your suggestions for a nice place to eat as well (no more than $30/plate). Thanks!!!

Early morning rental of the bike surry in Rehoboth is fun. I think you're allowed to ride on the boardwalk only until 10:00 am. The Rehoboth Library also has a kids movie night a couple of times/week which might be fun. It's on Rehoboth Avenue a few blocks inland from the boardwalk. We're headed to Rehoboth in August -- I'd love to hear more about the concerts in Bethany (what day/time?).

We always go to Blue Coast on US 1 in Bethany for dinner when we are there - nice view if its daylight and its a nice place - seems to be a range from pseudo-casual to dressy night out, and we always enjoy the food. We also like Patsy's and Sedona in Bethany, I know Sedona is pricier (but cheaper than DC), I can't remember how expensive Patsy's is.

We like to go get Armand's pizza, ice cream or Candy Kitchen at the Sea Colony shopping center in Bethany - they have a fountain in the center that the little kids love to play in. Are your kids too old for fountains??

Just got back from a great week at the beach, staying between Bethany and Dewey. We had a 10 month old, 2 1/2 year old, 5 year old and five adults.

We also enjoyed Blue Coast and Pasty's, and both were very family-friendly especially if you got there early -- like between 5:30 and 6:00. We also love the old classic Nicaboli in Rehoboth -- the nicabolis are yummy and better than the pizza. And the fries are great! (My 10 month old DS had his first fry there!).

As for activities, we all enjoyed Funland on the Rehoboth boardwalk for the rides and games and the older kids loved the water park Jungle Jims also near Rehoboth. For a quieter evening, a stroll around Bethany to get ice cream, or fudge or beach treats is always fun.

Enjoy your time away!

OP here - http://www.townofbethanybeach.com/index.asp?NID=98 is a link that will tell you more about the Bethany concerts. We've never actually witnessed one, but then again, we don't stay in Bethany, we just cruise over there once or twice - usally on our "night out". Thanks for the restaurant tips - I'm going to check those out. I forgot to ask - does anyone know of any secret less traffic tips/alternative routes/best times to travel? BTW, I don't think you are ever too old for fountains -- do you?
