Schools advertising on DCUM?

Are schools now advertising on DCUM? I saw an ad for Landon under the DCUM logo last week.

OMG there's an ad for Landon on my screen as I type. But why not? Our children eventually outgrown the Great Zucchini!

Make no mistake about it- admin and teachers from all the privates scour these boards daily.

I don't know how the Landon ad got there and I have no kids at Landon. But, I work at GWU and noticed our ads popped up so I asked someone in advertising. Apparently, if one buys a google ad -- the ad pops up in places that are pertinent...so Landon may not even know its ads pop up on DCUM. Maybe Jeff can comment.

The Landon ad routinely pops up on the never ending Sidwell football thread, which is funny given that Landon is alternately maligned and touted on the thread. I suspect it has to do with the school's name popping up since the Landon ad just popped up on this thread now that it's been mentioned by name.

These are Google Adsense ads that are run on DCUM. So DCUM is not accepting money directly from private schools. Google shows ads based upon the content of the site you are viewing, amongst other factors.
