One of the critical pieces that really didn't get mentioned but once, is that when the president said "I want nothing I want nothing I want no quid pro quo" it was
1) after an open-ended question from Sondland "What do you want?" and
2) in the same day Congress had opened an inquiry into the whistleblower complaint using the quid pro quo language
