Texas might checkmate abortion!!!

And sadly, this may degrade their good schools like Rice, SMU and UT-Austin.

"nice", rich, college students there will go out of state to get their abortions, paid for by mommy and daddy who probably support Rs due to "low taxes".

yep.. Hispanics tend to have a lot of kids regardless.

TX will go the way of CA, where the minority are the majority.

So...you are happy that women are being forced to carry a fetus against their will?

Duh. Life is life is life.

Embryos aren’t people. I had 17 embryos and only 2 had the ability to develop into living people. The other 15 ceased cell division before they even became fetuses. The two embryos that ultimately became people didn’t have detectable heartbeats at 6 weeks. One of them didn’t even appear to have a fetal pole yet at 6 weeks. They were basically just “products of conception” at that point. Giving them greater rights than those of fully formed, living, sentient women is utterly appalling.

The thing is, for the people who are opposed to abortions, don't get one. But you don't have the right to intrude on other people's private business.

Such hyopcrites.

They won't even wear masks or get vaccinated to help others or help themselves. Why should they have say over women's bodies?

they feel they have the right to punish you for having sex which produced an unwanted child or if you got raped. Must've been your fault. That's the Texan way, I guess.

The Evangelical way...so Christian of them.

Why?

Because abortion is murder.

Crowd sourcing criminal prosecution is innovative. Unconstitutional and hugely problematic. But innovative. So well done, abortion is murder people. You did something interesting. But wrong.

See, that’s the genius of this! It’s NOT criminal sanctions. The helpers can’t even invoke the Sixth Amendment to get a lawyer to defend them. There’s no civil Gideon people . It’s one of the most Brillo gambits we’ve ever seen.

Which is why anyone can invoke anyone they want and the defendants still have to pay an attorney or fight pro se, in court.

So brilliant

You think there won’t be lawyers lining up for these civil actions? Okey dokie.

Isn't the concept of standing in legal matters kind of fundamental? Is it so weak state legislation can supercede it?

If I live in Texas, I start filing multiple lawsuits against every Texas lawmaker and the governor, every day from here til eternity until this stupid law is repealed. There is ZERO downside and it forces the defendants to pay for their defense.

Said lawsuits against the governor, GOP legislators and their supporters will be dismissed, and you’ll face sanctions for filing frivolous lawsuits.

Any Democrat judge who tries to sanction people suing Democrat women will get struck down on appeal.

Face the music: the Wendy Davis women have lost. The Stacey Abrams lost. The Cecile Richards lost.

Our side out-legislated you and outlawyered you. You think you’re going to punish us because we don’t get vaccines and won’t wear masks? No, Democrats are getting punished. First this law, and then standing to sue anyone doing voter registration and mobilization.

It needs to be exceedingly costly and difficult to function in life as a Democrat. This law is one big step towards that goal. We get there, and we don’t even need to stand by with AR15s at polling places and government agencies. We’ll win elections straight up because it’s just too much trouble to do anything but support us.

I’m wondering what you think happens to your economy in the meantime. JFC.

Exactly. In state court, it’s a matter of state law

People who support this are disgusting.

So glad I don't live in TX. I thought about moving to Austin, but DH didn't want to go to TX.

The rapist could collect 10k from the 13 year old who aborted his babies.

Not surprised that the state of Ted Cruz is full of sickos with tiny dicks.
