: School grade may be considered as part of the evaluation, but the decision to allow a player to play up is ultimately based on technical criteria ... |
You're trying to reason with parents that dont understand what happens on top teams and are likely jealous that their kid isn't on a top team. Once the BY to SY change occurs and reality sets in they'll stop with the Aug-Sept playing down nonsense. At least for the top teams. They'll probably push for it on B and C teams where coaches are just looking for bodies and they'll get their way. But even if this occurs they'll quickly realize that its a dead end because top teams wont bring up players that are playing down a grade. |
And they won't bring up B or C players, especially the youngest, either. Welcome to youth soccer, where most get screwed in the end. |
How is it clubs fault that some players just arent good enough to play on the A team? Many B and C team parents like to make up all kinds of excuses as to why players make the top teams. They dont see all the work they put in outside of practice to be the best. The whineyness gets old. |
So you think this will be up to the individual player/family if the kid is Aug/sept but on grade? |
The only choices an individual player/family will have is which coach they can reach out to try out for and if they will/wont choose to accept an offer if its made. At cattle call tryouts parents/players wont even be able to reach out to the coach. Clubs coaches and docs will control who plays on the top teams and they wont waste their time with grade older players playing down. |

Aug - Dec kids who are on top teams and on grade and get at least half playing time - clubs will leave them alone UNLESS parents want to move them down to younger team.
Aug - Dec kids who are on top team but NOT on grade - clubs will try to push them to younger team. Parents who disagree will get to argue their case but club will likely comply. Aug - Dec kids who are NOT on top teams - honestly it doesn’t matter much to the club which teams your kids are on especially if much loved than RL. They will move your kids to grade level. This new change doesn’t impact your recruiting if your kids are playing in other leagues that ECNL/GA/ RL/MLSN |
What about a top RL player (Aug/sept)? |
So does the whineyness about grade. |
Those B and C families make the whole system viable with all the same money they spend. |
Except some WILL be good enough for the A team unless this dumb force-up rule is implemented. |
There is no force up rule of course, clubs and leagues are trying to clamp down on kids even trying to play up. |
Clubs won't know or care about grades of most kids. Kids come and go. |
|
Hahaha reality is starting to settle in. Clubs wont let grade older players play down a grade on A teams. |
