I was genuinely surprised that they live in Arlington.

N Arlington has a decent amount of MAGA for its liberal reputation but it’s not in your face or openly broadcast. 80% to Kamala still means 1 out of 5 people voted for Trump. We know a ton of MAGA Republicans who own homes and are raising families here (and sending them to APS). I’d bet at least a handful of people you assume are Dem are actually MAGA based on the 80/20 split.

Same. Just on one of my kid's sports teams there are maybe 4 families who are not ashamed to say they voted for T and even wear the 45/47 gear. They are mostly UMC people who belong to WCC. They don't really talk about it much anymore though.

Especially that part of Arlington - Country Club Heights (I know this isn't CC Heights) is very old money conservative.

Country Club Hills and it is NOT conservative. Maybe back in the day but not now. Maybe the Millers thought that too.

We go to WGCC and we are liberal but most of the conservatives are from old money in CC hills. Just my observation.

If you go to WGCC, you're not really liberal.

Why do you say that?

That PP doesn’t know what they’re talking about because they’re not a member. They are likely making a huge assumption that no true liberal would join there due to its past treatment of minorities, leadership who are maga, etc. I’d say it’s about 50/50 with the majority of new members and the under 45 crowd leaning more moderate to lib.

I am the PP, and I absolutely know what I'm talking about. Like most everyone else in N. Arlington, you think you're liberal because of your social politics, but turn a blind eye to the economic realities that allow for huge disparities in income. You CANNOT be a true liberal and belong to a country club.

The true liberals in Arlington do not have to join country clubs. They can simply pay $500K to $1M more for a house so that their kids can go to predominantly white public schools, hang out at predominantly white K of C swimming pool until they get membership in some predominantly white swimming club and have all of their hispanic help be imported from South Arlington, Annandale, Falls Church (but not the city), Fairfax and any place where there are cheap red brick apartments from the 1940s and 1950s. They soothe their liberal souls by getting drunk at the school fundraisers where 10% if the proceeds are set aside for Title I schools or go to the "gala" for Arlington Free Clinic or give crap from Christmas gift baskets to AFAC.

You can spot the houses, because they have the cheap bushes some builders plunked there and no flower beds in sight.

I can't imagine carrying groceries from the basement floor up to the kitchen. Sometimes we have seven bags and cases of drinks. It snows or ices up and have to climb those steps . forget it.

Nope liberals are not mortgaged to the hilt they understand finances unlike maga who can not do math at all. Liberals aren’t dumb enough to be gas lit like maga

That’s why all you confiscatory leftists got Goverment jobs - it was your keen insights into finances and markets. Gaslighting? Ha. You believe every lie your leaders cram down your throats. You are useful idiots to the end.

I hear Putin likes the black dining room idea and is busy painting. It does hide 🩸

It’s not Trump approved home.
Not enough gold decor.

Has someone already mentioned the bad grout job on that brickwork and made a joke about how he can't get anyone to fix it? If not, I shall be the first.

Weird that it hasn't sold.

Not really. It's a high price to pay for questionable access to the President. If you have this sort of money to throw around, there are probably more direct ways to get a favor from the President.

It’s ugly and overpriced, plus its owner has brought on a recession, so not that weird.

Sort of ironic they are trying to sell a house in Arlington during the local recession they've caused. I wonder where they are moving?

+1. Seems like an odd choice.

It will sell when quatar or Saudi buys it through an Llc, just like Vance’s bad Del Ray home did

Yep, I’m one of them — North Arlington, APS, the whole package. Everyone just assumes we’re Democrats because we don’t talk politics (and honestly, we’re not that political). Not really MAGA — I leaned more toward DeSantis — but I’m not losing sleep over Trump either. Reading these posts, though, it’s pretty clear a lot of folks here are comfortably sealed inside their progressive bubble. Must be nice to afford all those luxury beliefs when you never have to deal with the fallout of your own policies.

What fallout do you have to deal with from progressive policies? I am open to learning.
