Claremont McKenna raised a billion. Middlebury is behind peers.

That was a multi-year campaign that ended in 2023. I hope your reading comprehension skills are not indicative of CMC’s teaching quality.

This isn't someone from from CMC. This is our friendly Middlebury Troll trying yet another vector in a feeble attempt to cause trouble.

And then there are about a half a dozen of us with zero affiliation to this school who point out that this person is nuts. thus, 13 pages

I've learned more about Middlebury than I ever would have without that single person posting nonsense and others responding. I would say that in my case the result was the opposite of their intention.

I’ve learned that Middlebury attracts…obsessions.

Looking back over 14 pages, I'd call it passion and hatred.

Your looking back over 14 pages just now kind of speaks for itself.

Hatred definitely by a certain party, offset by a group of people whom genuinely like and respect the school and refuse to let the Troll off of the hook. I am not sure that I would call that passion but maybe.

And has middlebury reached anywhere near that? Exactly. Continue missing the point though.

The Campaign for CMC broke all records for liberal arts colleges, raising $1.076 billion over EIGHT years. Middlebury's For Every Future campaign, which launched internally in 2021 and publicly in 2023, is nearing $600 million.

So no.

I am not sure that I would be interested in what you would call it because you incorrectly use the word “whom.”

This kind of nonsense post is why it's at 14 pages. Pretty much every good college's applications are up over pre-pandemic numbers. Kids go wild now applying to lots of schools. Middlebury's have declined recently. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but nothing wrong with someone looking at this number, along with the demographic cliff, particularly in the Northeast, as well as financials, and ask his well Middlebury will weather the storm. Seems like a reasonable question. And I'm saying that as someone with zero connection to the school.

Applications are down, even as they got rid of their supplemental essays in an attempt to goose their numbers.

Maybe I’m crazy but I think that dropping in apps is pretty concerning, particularly for a need blind school with no supplements with a pretty decent ranking.

By this metric, you must be really concerned for Yale too.

we know Princeton early apps were down last year and they didn't release RD. Harvard no longer releases any of this. yale down.

they're all down from the very inflated bump of TO. even schools that are TO, word is out you need to submit them if you want to have a chance (assuming youre not FGLI)
