Prepping slow cooker the night before?

Anonymous
I need to make dinner for our MIL tomorrow evening and am planning a beef stew in the slow cooker. Is it ok to prep everything and store in the slow cooker in the fridge tonight? Or do I risk losing flavor or freshness by doing this?

I do that all the time.

I do it too.

Do you brown the meat in advance though?

I cook everything in the slow cooker overnight, then transfer the cooked dish to the fridge in the morning, and reheat at dinner time. It takes me too long to prep a slow cooker meal in the morning.

I've done the browning in advance and then put everything in the fridge. Not sure this is recommended, but it worked fine for me.

To me it's the only way to do it. Who has time to make dinner in the morning?
