We are new to the district. How much time should we plan for when calculating the time the bus will arrive at a stop?
I am mostly concerned about when to arrive at the bus stop in the morning. The schedule was not very clear. Thanks! |

It depends upon how many stops you are after the start of the run.
Our bus schedule lists a start time of the run and then lists several (15) stops before arriving at the school. Our stop is the 10th stop on the list, so I am estimating 20 minutes to cover all those stops, knowing that we'll be early and will need to wait for the bus at the stop. We have found that after the first week or so, the bus driver will have a better sense of the route and traffic, and can better advise about the best time to arrive at the bus stop. |

| That first day it's a good idea to be there way before you think is necessary. I would get out there within ten minutes of the time listed on your sheet (bus departs from school) on the first day. We have had examples where the bus driver (usually one that has experience with the route) will change the order of pick-up, so you can't guarantee that you will be the 10th stop even if that's what is listed on your timetable. On the first day, you can ask the driver what time s/he would advise that you to be at the stop. |
