Immersion Programs - Math and Science Question/Advise/Help

Anonymous
If you had/have your child in the immersion program, would you please tell if they are struggling in Math or Science? How did you help them with Math at home if you don’t speak the language?
Thank you.

Math is easy to help with because 2+2=4 in any language. DS attends an immersion school and we speak the immersion language (but non-native). We usually try to do the homework in the target language but if a concept needs reinforcing (or our vocab fails us!), we do it in English. We have friends who run the instructions through google translate, which usually does the trick. Good luck!

Our teachers want to make sure they understand in English, too, so we do that at home. Both numbers and science translate well. In our school they have lots of hands on projects (watching mold grow) and my DS likes learning that way. We are happy with it.

I was wondering the same thing. It'fll be nice if others will also mention what school their kids are attending. I have found little information about the outcomes of this program.
