My DD has expressed an interest (I think because another friend from HS is also interested). My DH and I were both in college on the West Coast and we don't know anything about it. We went to large colleges and had thought our outgoing sporty daughter might prefer a larger campus but this one seems very small. |
Yes, it's highly regarded. |
I used to teach there in the mid-90s.
It's very expensive, small, liberal arts school wtih some engineering. It's a good school, but in a crappy part of Hartford. Whether it's good for your DD would depend on what she wants to study, among other things. It has a good student-to-prof ratio, with lots of individualized attention. |
It is a selective liberal arts school. The campus itself is lovely but as pp noted the surrounding area is not. My dd was accepted there but chose not to go because she did not think she would feel comfortable.
Best known for its championship squash team. |
The dumbest girls in my kid's class go to Trinity. |
Nice, pp. |
Wow, I hope your kid doesn't share your gift of gab. If you're going to add to the discussion, say something constructive (at least that's the rule on our house). |
I agree. I graduated from Trinity in the 80's and while the campus is lovely, the neighborhood is just awful, which does have a (negative) impact on day-to-day- life. I got a fabulous education there, and went on to a top law school and a satisfying work life. The small classes make for easy interactions between profs and students - indeed, I am still in touch with two of my professors. One of them came for dinner with his wife enroute south earlier this summer, and we enjoyed catching up. |
Is it Catholic? Is it the same "Trinity" that Justice Thomas and Chief Justice Roberts' wife attended, or is that a different school with the same name? |
No I think it's Protestant. I thought Justice Thomas went to Holy Cross & Yale (Roberts' wife also went to Holy Cross) |
It's Episcopal. But like other schools that were founded by the Episcopal Church (Kenyon, Bard to name a couple), religion doesn't play a role in anything other than being a fact regarding the history of the school. |
