Classes at Sur La Table

Wanted to mention we had a great time today taking one. We probably won't do it again for a long time because it's kinda pricey for us, but my mom is in town and we love to cook so we thought we could spare a few hours to learn some new things and enjoy some new food together. Great experience, excellent instructor, and some pretty good grubs.

Would you recommend these for a "novice"? I really only have experience cooking for the family, so real basics, like meatloaf, steak, maybe chicken marsala (from pre kid days)
I'm a little intimidated that it would all be foodies and be above my head

Definitely - it would be great for anyone, except for maybe foodies!

In our class, there was a wide variety of people. No food snobs that I noticed. Two couples (out of 12 people) and a range of ages.

It was NOT intimidating in the least and truly a lot of fun.
