DH turning 50

If you or your spouse has hit the 50 mark, can you share any awesome gift ideas? My husband fortunately does not need or really want anything, but I would love to surprise him with something that he will have/cherish for the next 50 years. We are celebrating his 50th with a dinner party with his family and a Caribbean trip. Any suggestions from the wise 50-somethings on this list are greatly appreciated!

Frankl i think the trip to the carribean is enough! And a dinner party too!!

The gift that I have always given to anyone celebrating their 50th is a copy of Life, Time, or Fortune Magazine, any other magazine of the week of their birth. Sometimes, you get lucky and it will be the same day. It has never failed that this is always the hit of the party.

"From Out of the Past" was one place I always had good luck. I think there is a website. Good luck and happy birthday to your DH.

For my parents' 50th anniversary (I know - a different event), I had photos made into a video. We included shots from childhood, engagement and wedding pictures, baby events, homes they lived in, etc.

It was pretty cool - and something that does indeed have meaning.
