reporting suspicious/inappropriate post to you?

Anonymous
is there still a way to do it?

OP here -- I see now that people have just been sending you the link under this forum. On the old site, we could hit a button that says "report post" or something like that. Wondering whether we could reinstitute that?

Anyway, what prompted my question was the thread today asking for etiquette school recommendations. Someone responded with a name of a school, and less than a couple of hours later, the owner responded saying thanks for the referral. Give me a break . . . .

The software we are using for the forums now doesn't have a "report" function. I've been bugging the developers to implement it, but they are bus working on a totally new version and don't want to implement new features to the current version. Using this forum is the best alternative at the moment.

Regarding the posts you pointed out. I appreciate your alertness. However, I'm comfortable with those posts. After all, isn't it good etiquette to thank people for recommendations? (I joke, I joke). But, again, I do appreciate help tracking down inappropriate posts.

Thanks! As others have said, you rock. Is your wife jealous that you have so many female admirers?

I really hope you make good money selling ad space . . . .

When is the nanny survey going to be published?

Op here, on the ad issue, i notice on my computer that there are ads that say "ads by Google." Are they legit? Do you get a cut?

I honestly mean when i say I hope you make some money off this. I think most of us will think it would be great if you did. You do som much work to run this site! But I want to know is someone is posting ads without your permission so i can definitely avoid them. Similar to the mail we get where someone is trying to trick us with gimmicks to open the letter (making it look like a bill or a fed ex package.) I always wondered why these people would ever thinkg I would buy their product when they tricked me into opening the document.

The Google Ads are legit and we are making a decent amount of money from them. We also can work directly with advertisers now and avoid giving Google a cut. Please click on the ads as much as possible -- especially the John McCain ads because I'd love to deplete his advertising budget and have him fund DCUM all in one shot.

No, it is not my full time job. I don't take vacations -- currently an issue of dispute in our house.

I believe Webster's would define that as a "two-fer."

I think you should let the DCUM "family" know all this. I have been avoiding them.

Were you avoiding all ads, or just the McCain ads?

All ads. I thought that they were "bots" or spam and not approved by you -- meaning, you were not getting a cut! Am I wrong, or at one point in the last couple of years did you say you were not accepting ads? Anyway, that is what has stuck in my mind.

We don't accept advertising for the mailing list, but we have been running Google Ads for about 2 years.
