i have a newish cutting board (two weeks) that still gives of a strong, unpleasant odor. if that is just the way bamboo smells, then i can get over it. but if the smell is do to some glue or whatever other toxic substance that has been applied to it, i'd rather get it away from my food.

| No. I have several bamboo cutting boards and they do not have a smell. You could try sanding it down to get the coating off and then oil it with something non-toxic. |
