How bad is the mean-girl-syndrome at WW?

Anonymous
I keep hearing comments about Wayewood Elementary and the mean-girl-syndrome that starts very early at this school. I've also heard that the parents are very cliquish and these cliques influence the school a little too much. Is this really a problem? If so, does the school do anything to monitor or stop or discourage this behavior?

Just put your daughter in peace symbols from head to toe, and teach her to smoke pot and make out with all the boys and she will be fine. As far as the Moms. Drink. Heavily.

OP - who are you hearing this stuff from? Seriously? I have an incoming K as well and the only negative stuff I hear is from anonymous people online, so I just take it with a grain of salt.

Are you hearing these things from your friends with kids there?

It's been a few years since we lived in Waynewood, but yes, at the time the parents were very cliquish (VERY), and the power mothers in charge of the PTA ran the place like a private school. They went through a couple of principals in a short amount of time. The last principals while we were there did NOTHING to change the environment. The principal and asst. principal did not want to believe that anything less than perfect Stepford children and parents existed at Waynewood. It was the worst experience at a school for us. If you value any sort of support for independent thinking for your child, you probably will not find like-minded parents or staff there. The office lady at the time was a very angry, passive-aggressive person. If you were not one of the important parents that she had to suck up to, then watch out. She was really unpredictable and had no business working around children.
