Weak links- Essays, geographic diversity, racial/ethnic diversity, ED, accommodations, family income, sports, research projects, non-profits. All of the above can be Mis-represented in different ways. Don’t know what the solution is. One standardized exam for all that includes essays? People will find a way to game that too.

This one didn't have to change her name and got into Carnegie Mellon and Cornell, almost got into medical school as well. Geez, are there any practicing physicians out there who scammed their way into medical school?

Yalie here, and this is all so strange. I actually remember one of my classmates was from ND. There were so few of them on campus I think they had a little informal club or something.

So the scammer goes through all the trouble to research the admissions process, create a new persona, forge documents, etc. and what trips her up is that she apparently has never seen a single movie or tv show about college where freshmen move into rooms bearing cutesy name tags (including hometown) created a dorky RA?

I still remember my husband's dorky tag. It was a golden trophy shape that said "World Class 'First Name' Student" on it. The first name was centered on the trophy so that it interrupted the "World Class Student" phrase. We called him World Class 'First Name' Student" for a few weeks because of that.

This is why you can't hire 23 yo AO and expect them to do anything. Lazy lazy lazy.
Not related, but that kid is a tribal member and also in charge of native recruitment.

Even worse, medical schools these days are full of DEI admits. Scary!

Probably because for years we only had access to mediocre white men docs. Unfortunately, they're still in abundance.

Who cares if the roommate was a narc, she was right. And Katherina couldn’t stop her lying shenanigans and sounded like a nightmare roommate the entire time she was there (talking on the phone for hours in the room to her boyfriend, being messy and unhygienic, leaving trash and rotten food in the room, claiming to want to bring a cage into the room for her BSDM boyfriend to be in when he comes to visit, like WTF). She couldn’t just have gone along with average college freshman and acted quasi normal. If your own kid called you and told you she had a roommate line this you absolutely would be telling her to report it.
