This is your parents’ problem. I'm in my forties with several friends who have young kids and still have energy for all of those things.


+1. This is not normal. There are 70 year olds running marathons. I’m in my mid 40s and feel amazing. I would have another but my husband is a hard no.

Nope! I know too many people who have had a surprise cancer diagnosis and died in their 50’s.

I'd love to chime and say "no, too many risks! not fair to the child! crazy!" but if it was my one and only shot, yes, I would do it, provided I had the resources to care for the child without putting financial burden on them in my old age, and drive to build a strong community for them. With a 43 yo parent, that's really not all that risky, and it's always a good idea to have a strong community .
