UTK the next elite public?

Tennessee is a nice school. Even people who go there realize it isn’t as rigorous as many of the other publics much higher ranked. Say what you want about ranking but a difference of 50-75 plus isn’t a rounding error. Enjoy the school for your child and don’t make it more than it is.

+1 UTK is fine, but until it’s at least T100 the suggestion that it’s an academic school is absurd. Just be happy it’s a decent place where kids have fun. It’s fine, really.

Pipe down, little brother. UGA basketball went to the NCAA championship and won four national championships in addition to a football SEC championship. No other academic institution in the SEC (UF, UGA, Texas, Vandy) had a better year in athletics.

Our DC2 has it as their top choice but none of us have any illusions that it’s elite. But we all really liked Knoxville enough that we’ve moved it onto our list of potential retirement locations. DC says, though, that we’d have to wait until after their graduation, lol.
