They will find a great person to replace him. That what is supposed to happen, precious snowflakes. The school doesn’t own him.

That’s the problem they won’t. We have been at the school for multiple kids and years. They have done a poor job in hiring in that department in the past. The last hire has been a PE teacher who coaches more at the school she came from. They need to hold onto Mr. Brophy. 😱😱😱

I don’t have romantic crushes on all the PE teachers so I don’t remember all their names, but I’ve had a kid at St. Ps for ages too, and my child has had several great PE teachers, inclusive of Mr. Brophy. He was there before the pandemic which is why I remember his name.

If you have haven’t been happy with them, hire a personal trainer for your kid. They are all over the place.

I think paying 45k for tuition should be enough . I am sorry we were excited for DD to have a female coach & athletic role model at her school. The school announced this hire and said she would be doing these things at St. Patrick’s. I am disappointed to see her at my oldest daughters high school basketball game as the opposing teams coach.

St. Patrick’s. My son is now at Sidwell. Had the best time playing sports for Mr. Brophy. We miss those days.

There is an excellent music program and we loved how chapel/Episcopalian faith was part of the program.

11 years at St Pats with multiple kids. Wouldn’t trade our experience for anything. My kids went on to top private schools and were fully prepared. I long for the days of caring and impressive St Pats teachers. There will always be some disappointments along the way, would be the same at any school. I loved the community and made lifelong friends. It can get tricky, as someone else pointed out, it’s NW DC - it comes with the territory, literally. The weekly chapel was very open and inclusive and one of the best parts …. When your kids are older, you will long for 20 minutes a week with them sitting on your lap. It’s very special.

This is so lovely to hear. My son is at St. Pats, and whenever I go to chapel with him and he is sitting in my lap or next to me with his friends, I always have a moment of thankfulness that we chose St. Pat’s (and they chose us!). It’s the best!

3 classes for Pre-k; about 50/grade by middle school. I think it’s perfect in size. Big enough but not too big.

I heard St pats was much smaller in middle school. Under 30 kids per grade. Is that not true? I didn’t look at school but considered looking.

Did they keep Mr. Brophy? I really hope so. Why are so many students leaving is my next question? Daughters grade is losing 11 I believe.

NPS has much smaller class sizes by 4th or 5th grade.
