It seems to be getting easier. Tomorrow is my birthday, though I plan on staying the course.

I just slept 8 straight hours, I didn't even know I could go that long with out peeing lol. I usually am up for an hour or two in the night and get about 6-7 hours altogether with or without alcohol. I think it was the lack of alcohol, weights, and good diet that did it, plus mental exhaustion from work.

Day 12! I’m feeling less bloated and sleeping great. I feel less foggy and more positive and upbeat.

Turns out that covid is the key to sticking with Dry January! I aim for Damp January but at this point might just go for a full Dry January.

The last two nights I fell asleep fine but was wide awake at 3 am. Today, it is 3 am and I have yet to fall asleep. WTF?!

12 days without a drink! I can honestly say I haven't gone this long in a decade. Sad, but true.

I'm feeling good! I had an incredibly busy day yesterday- long work day onsite, right to a a kids sporting event, and then on to a gathering with friends. I was going all day from 7-11. And was NEVER dragging or tired or irritable. The biggest change I have noticed is how I have so much more energy.

I’ve been waking at 3 or 4 for about two hours. Sucking.

I got tripped up Monday night and had a couple beers while watching college championship with friends. Normally that would have derailed me into more drinking. Happy to say no drinks since Monday. Hoping to keep it going this weekend.

If you are a beer drinker, NA beers have come quite a long way! My fridge is stocked up right now for football this weekend.

Has anyone found good NA red wine? Really missing it.

NA wines are a tough nut to crack. They’re so sweet without the alcohol. I’ve added a few shakes of bitters (which have alcohol) into NA wine to make it a little more palatable.

I just found out that a friend of mine from.college died of alcohol use disorder last year. I send a holiday card to his parents' house every year and received a letter from his mother informing me of his death. He was early 40s. I'm not actually surprised given that he had serious problems with alcohol in college but it was still so horrible to learn. That shit is toxic!
