Everyone I speak to in Bethesda with HS seniors has a kid applying to Tulane. How many can possibly be accepted from one area?

Out of curiosity, are all these kids applying ED? Or EA?

Ivys of south are Duke, Rice, Vanderbilt. Michigan if the south is University of Florida. And UNC is UNC. Period.

If you look at Naviance scatter grams you can see how many kids from your school applied. At my kids’ Bethesda HS, 30 kids of 500 applied to Tulane.

Both are strong regionally and with solid national name recognition. On pure name recognition and prestige, Tulane is probably stronger within its region than Tufts and equal nationally.

No. Tufts is a very serious academic institution. Tulane is not Having similar acceptance rates or rankings in US news doesn’t change the fact

No affiliation with Tufts, but it draws the most serious and nerdy student

No doubt Tufts is objectively more selective but I don't think it is perceived as "better" in most of the country. Tulane has strong name recognition. There are not any Grisham books involving Tufts, are there?

Are you kidding?? I don’t have a kid at either but know both schools well and currently know many kids at both. Tufts is by far the better school with smarter, more serious and truly academic students. Tulane is a party school with smart enough kids who didn’t chose their college for academics reasons. Tufts is also better known and more highly regarded in professional circles. No comparison.

There’s some weirdo Tulane booster who’s been active recently. Top 40 with Tulane being 40, so simply ignore.

Has anyone been contacted this year by Tulane asking them to switch from EA to ED? I know this has been common in the past, wondering about this admissions cycle.

You seem foggy in what “40” means.
