Dems know this and soon Republicans will face it (not MAGA though, they’ll never face anything)

The Democrats painted themselves into a corner. They want to both blame the Republicans while getting credit for fighting for healthcare subsidies. That’s a very fine needle to thread compared to the messaging on a clean CR.

A truly clean CR would continue to fund existing things at existing levels. This one has ACA and Medicare funding going away. Thus I would not consider it to be a clean CR.

That is the same as existing levels, as in 2020 Democrats passed a temporary five year subsidy boost, that goes beyond four times the poverty level.

So you are ok with Billionaires getting millions in tax cuts while everyone else eats cake. Got it.

Reminds me of those temporary tax cuts--mostly benefitting the wealthy--that we just made permanent....

Bingo. Let's make all those cuts permanent but God forbid we make healthcare more affordable /s

It’s because it’s really for the insurance companies.

The first 12:24 here...do you feel like answering my question? The closer we get to November 21, the less leverage Mike Johnson has. I'd say he is the one who is painted into a corner.

The group that keeps voting “no” on opening up the govt will get the blame.

Go back and read the question. It's not about who gets blamed - it's asking what will Mike Johnson do as the calendar renders his 7-week CR moot?

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said anyone who’s frustrated by the pay discrepancy should blame Democrats for not voting to end the shutdown.

Umm wrong. Republicans control all three branches of government! The Republicans should put forth an appropriations bill that will pass, not a crappy CR no one wants. Johnson is incompetent. He should do his job!

Polling suggests the American public understands:

1) how bad the BBB is for them
2) that the GOP passed it without any input from Democrats
3) that the GOP controls the House, Senate and White House
and
4) That the Dems ONLY concession to reopen the government its to spare millions of Americans, mostly red state voters, a tripling or more of health care premiums.

So no, the Dems don't get the blame here.

I don’t understand why the democrats won’t just come out and say that the republicans won’t show up to open the government is because if the trumpstein files.

These posts are really light on data. Surely there is polling showing this right?

The group that keeps voting “no” on opening up the govt will get the blame.

Americans need to touch the stove. If a government failed to pass a budget there should be new elections, stop social security payments, stop Medicare processing claims, stop the courts.

This is just terrible messaging.

It’s not just messaging with them. They don’t care about Americans suffering. As long as they have “leverage,”

Every day I’m in awe of the MAGA propaganda and stupidity. Why is it so obvious to us, yet they can’t see, that Trump’s agenda is to create problems, blame the dems, and put on an act that they are now saving us from said problem?

HHS finalized rules to let people buy catastrophic health care coverage, so a lot of these premium increases won't matter. People will end up paying less.

And what is the difference between catastrophic health coverage and regular health coverage?
